SJCC produces variety of infotainment and social awareness programmes made by the students themselves under the guidance of experienced professionals. Along with fine-tuning their skills it also develops a social responsibility and civic sense among the students.

Proving its social commitment once again SJCC has produced 3 Road Safety Awareness videos in association with Maruti Suzuki Indian Ltd and Motor Vehicles Department, Government of Kerala. The first was on the use of helmet, the second on the significance of using dim light and the third on the dangers of drunken driving. They were starred by Dulquer Salman, Unni Mukundan and Karthi respectively. All the videos have reached thousands of people across South India.
Crown of the Church is a biopic of the legendary ecclesial leader of the Syro-Malabar church, Archbishop Mar Joseph Powathil, the visionary founder of SJCC. The movie focuses on the various phases of the life of Mar Joseph Powathil giving special attention to his childhood, school education, seminary life, studies at the Oxford University, life as a Priest, as the Auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Changanassery, as the Bishop of Kanjirappally diocese, as the Arch Bishop of Changanassery, as the Chairman of KCBC and the as the President of CBCI. His social, cultural and religious views and his ideology about the Catholic Church are very well reflected throughout the movie. The guidance given by Mar Joseph Powathil through the media and through his writings regarding the protection of the rights of the dalit Christians received applause from the viewers. The portrayal of his life as the lecturer and the hostel warden at St. Berchmans College, Changanassery adds more colour to the movie. The movie scripted by the famous writer John Paul is directed by Raju Abraham and the cinematography was done by Sajan Kalathil. Media Village Studios at St. Joseph College of Communication, a venture of the Archdiocese of Changanassery, is the producer of the movie.
Prathyashais a short film produced in 35mm Cinemascope by SJCC students of MA Cinema and Television as part of their internship programme. It won the Best Short Film Award of Kerala Film Critics Association and secured an entry at the International Film Festivals in India and abroad.
Yet another short film in 35mm cinemascope, shot by SJCC MA Cinema and Television Students. Sneham which was screened in several national and international film festivals is a moving narration of the story of typical Indian family.
As part of the students’ project, SJCC has made a Short Film with the objective of promoting public awareness on Anti-terrorism. The film has been shot with ARRI 435 Camera. It was part of the Cannes film Festival, numerous national and international festivals.
An HD short film shot with Canon5D MARK3, was done as a part of the internship programme of our MACTV students. The internship was supervised by famous Bollywood director Mr. Kamal (ID Fame) and sound mixing was done by Oscar winner Mr.Rasool Pookutty. It tells the story of a young boy who left his home town in Rajastan in search of sea.
A feature film based on the Brazilian story “Third Bank of the River” by Guimaraes Rosa tells the tale of a man’s relationship with God, nature and family with a twist in the perspective. The story originally set in the Latin American context has been adapted to the culture and geography of Kerala. The film cinematographed and directed by Fowzia Fathima has beautifully captured the surrealistic beauty of Kuttanad. It was a part of the project of the MA Cinema and Television Students.
“A Dip To” is a beautifully directed and cinematographed silent short-film that speaks volumes about the significance of hygienic practice through a failed love story. It has been conceived in tune with the “Swatch Bharat” campaign and has been well appreciated.
Aardram scripted and directed by Mr. Jimmy Antony, tells the tragic tale of a father who practices and transmits to the next generation a culture of sharing in spite of utter poverty. The short-live happiness of the under privileged family captured by Mr. Gabriel in the background of the rural Kuttanad moves everyone into tears.
